Ingredients

Texas Road House Rolls

  • 1 cup whole milk warmed to 105–110°F
  • 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar divided
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted and cooled
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon fine salt
  • 4 to 4½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted, for brushing

Cinnamon Honey Butter

  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Combine warm milk, yeast, and 1 tablespoon sugar in a large mixing bowl. Let stand for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  • Add the remaining sugar, melted butter, eggs, and salt. Mix until combined.
  • Gradually add 4 cups flour until a soft dough forms. Add additional flour only if necessary.
  • Knead with a dough hook for 7–9 minutes or by hand for 10–12 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  • Transfer to a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 60–90 minutes or until doubled.
  • Gently press down the dough and roll into a rectangle approximately ½ inch thick.
  • Cut into 24 roughly equal squares or rectangles and arrange on two parchment-lined baking sheets.
  • Cover and allow to rise for another 30–45 minutes, until puffy.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake for 14–18 minutes until lightly golden and baked through.
  • Immediately brush the warm rolls with 2 tablespoons melted butter.
  • For the cinnamon honey butter, beat softened butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar, honey, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt. Beat until fluffy.
  • Serve warm rolls with cinnamon honey butter.
