For The Steaks
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 large eggs
- ⅓ cup breadcrumbs
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- ¼ cup onion finely chopped
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp dijon mustard
- ½ tbsp olive oil
For The Mushroom Gravy
- ½ tbsp olive oil
- 8 oz mushrooms sliced, use more if you like
- ½ cup onion diced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour all-purpose or gluten-free
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- sea salt to finish
- ground black pepper to finish
Get Recipe Ingredients
Mix your steak ingredients together in a bowl. Form 5 patties.
Heat olive oil over medium heat in a skillet. Cook patties on one side until browned. About 2 minutes. Flip and brown the other side for about 1-2 minutes. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, scraping all the brown bits, add the remaining ½ tbsp oil and cook onions and mushrooms until just soft.
Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
Sprinkle flour over mushrooms and stir for 45 seconds to 1 minute to create a roux.
Slowly pour in beef broth while whisking/stirring.
Stir in the ketchup and Dijon mustard. Let this mixture come to a simmer.
Return patties to the skillet and simmer 7-9 minutes until cooked through. Remove from the heat and rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Sprinkle with sea salt and ground black pepper. Enjoy!
