- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp ground black pepper

- 1 tsp fennel seeds
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes optional
- 3 tbsp tomato paste
- 28-oz can crushed tomatoes
- 15-oz can tomato sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- ¼ cup beef broth
