- 2 lbs lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion diced
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 salt
- ½ tsp ground black pepper
Sauce
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes drained
- ½ cup beef broth
Pasta
- 12 oz rotini or shells pasta cooked
Cheese Blend
- 2 cup mozzarella
- 1 cup cheddar
- ½ cup Parmesan
- fresh parsley for garnish
Get Recipe Ingredients
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Cook pasta slightly under al dente.
Brown ground beef and onions. Cook 6-8 minutes, breaking up the meat.
Once browned, drain excess grease if necessary.
Add garlic and seasonings.
Stir in marinara, tomatoes, and broth.
Simmer 5 minutes.
Add cooked pasta directly into the beef mixture. Stir until evenly coated.
Transfer mixture to a greased 9x13 baking dish. Top with cheese.
Cover the baking dish loosely with foil. Bake 20 minutes.
Remove the foil and continue baking for another 10-15 minutes or until: Cheese is melted, edges are bubbling, top is lightly golden, internal temperature reaches 165°F.
For an extra golden top, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end.
Allow the casserole to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Sprinkle with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan before serving.
