- 1 cup butter unsalted or salted, softened
- 1¼ cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2¾ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- flakey sea salt to top
Get Recipe Ingredients
Preheat oven to 350°F
Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Beat butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time.
Mix in vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients.
Mix until just combined.
Cover dough and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Scoop large 3-tablespoon portions of dough.
Roll gently into balls.
Place on prepared baking sheets approximately 3 inches apart.
Do not flatten.
Bake for 11–13 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Cool on baking sheet for 10 minutes.
Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For thicker cookies, chill overnight.
- For extra peanut butter flavor, add ½ cup peanut butter chips.
- For chocolate lovers, fold in 1 cup chocolate chips.
- Cookies will continue baking as they cool.
