Covid Adventures

Novemeber 6th marked my first trip in a LONG time! Flew into San Francisco and drove over to the gorgeous rolling hills full of sunkissed grapes vines in Napa.

Yes, I travel with my boots and no make up! R&R time!

We had to the pleasure of visiting many vineyards with some classy food pairings. The most grand of them all was the Domaine Carneros visit. Unfortunately, with the sunsetting so quickly I was unable to capture all of its be beauty, but I did capture the fun part, the incredible tasting!

We drove up to a beautiful mansion that over looked hills for days with manicured rows of vines. Greeted outside to keep everyone safe during these unpredictable times, we were quickly escorted to our table which was far from others. It was actually so nice to have space versus the usual ways we all lived with tables stacked on tables. Plus, an outdoor view that was breathe taking.

Immediately after seated, our tasting host was well prepared with this knowledge and information of everything we were tasting for the day.

They are not shy when they it comes to pours, a healthy pour was given to each of us as we sampled 4 different sparkling wines. Domaine Carneros is tucked away on the west end of Napa which is conveniently located from downtown Napa where I stayed. They are known for their sparkling, hand crafted wines and they did not disappoint!

Y’all know me by now, Friday’s are all about the sparkles and brownies, this had to have been the highlight of my time there! Their cheese tray was selected to accompany the smooth, bubble-licious sparkles. I would have taken one of each home if I could! Great for this Texas heat that lingers year around!

What I enjoyed most was the space. I know Covid-19 has brought us all more aware of personal space and created some germaphobes from all of this. Domaine Carneros right now is the perfect get away for those of us looking for a short weekend vacation spot. It was quiet, limited seating capacity, and you were swept away from all the chaos in the world.

I hear this is the off-season and I would most likely go back during this time because of all the reasons listed above. Maybe even for my birthday in January, I would suggest meeting me there! It was a fabulous time, next time I am making this my first place to stop to enjoy the views before the sun sets!

Visit their website for more information and book! I highly recommend, tell them I sent you!
