Jackfruit Tacos

Jackfruit Tacos

The jackfruit attack! Doesn’t it look like chicken? Guess what? It is like chicken! Seasoned with taco season for vegan tacos.

I buy this in canned form at Whole Foods. Jackfruit is a sectional fruit and you eat the meat of it, like a pomegranate, there is a lot of skin and such left over. In the original form jackfruit is on the sweeter side. In canned form it is on the salty side. For tacos, stir-fry, sloppy joe’s, nachos, etc, you want to buy jackfruit in brine.

This is a great meat substitution and can use whatever seasoning or sauce on it. It doesn’t have that much taste, similar to canned chicken. Don’t be grossed out, it on the salty side and delicious!

Heat up in a skillet with some oil, season, and done! I dressed my taco bar with Zubiate’s product to stay with the vegan, dairy-free, nut-free, and gluten free meal for my guests. This way you don’t have to worry about any allergic reactions!
