Let me show you how to make lemon garlic whipped feta dip appetizer that is versatile and vegan friendly with your favorite vegan feta cheese. Plant based lifestyle can enjoy this creamy spread or dip with dairy free yogurt or your favorite plant-based substitute. Add a dash of lemon and a drizzle of honey or maple syrup to reduce the strong bite of the shallot and garlic. My favorite combination involved soy sauce for a salty touch or a sprinkle of sea salt to heighten the flavor experience. Let’s dig in!
Lemon Garlic Whipped Feta Dip Appetizer
My spread is simple. We add shallot and garlic whole to a food processor. Then I add the yogurt, feta, lemon juice, oil, and lemon zest. Give that a grind then add in honey and dried seasoning. That is it! If you are serving as a true appetizer you will want to add some salt. A pinch will do. If you are layering your whipped feta with other items like roasted vegetables or meatballs, I would skip the salt and let those whole ingredients do the heavy lifting with the touch of salt.
I love sheet pan dinners, they make life easy and you can cook a lot at once! My go to vegetables are cauliflower, broccoli, and sweet potatoes. A hearty combination!
Feta Cheese And Plain Greek Yogurt
According to WebMD feta cheese provides you with an excellent source of nutrients like calcium and protein. Although, this cheese is to be eaten in moderation. However, I blended this with a high protein Greek yogurt, but you can use non-Greek yogurt, too. Therefore, The yogurt adds a creamy factor while the feta holds a sturdy foundation to keep your dip/spread thick and less high in saturated fats. Additionally rice, noodles, anything really goes with this lemon garlic whipped feta cheese dip appetizer. I recommend serving chilled. Below I paired this gem with chickpeas, get the crunchy ones or roast them yourself. This adds a fun crunch to the dish! I used regular chickpeas for speed. Sided with all this goodness is turkey meatballs. All of this can bake at the same temperature really. Logically and logistically, I try not to over crowd my oven and bake the hefty items first so everything bakes evenly. Meatballs only take about 11 minutes so while you let your vegetable set, slide the meatballs in!
A great alternative to my recipe is my favorite brand of tzatziki sauce, Good Foods feta dip. If you want an awesome homemade tzatziki, find it here!
