Easy Homemade Pizza Sauce With Prosciutto And Mozzarella Cheese

Pizza takes the win over burgers or hot dogs any day in my world! I don’t eat it often because I become easily hooked, but when I do I enjoy a homemade pizza sauce with extra cheese and some meat. This Homemade Pizza Sauce with prosciutto and mozzarella sits on the Jul-Rol ready to bake refrigerated pizza dough. Dinner time couldn’t get much easier than this 25 minute meal.

Easy Homemade Pizza Sauce

Hearing the words “homemade pizza sauce” may seem intimidating, but this is literally a can opening event. We start with 1 large can of tomato sauce and a small can of tomato paste. I like to use the products that already have flavors in them . You will see on the cans “basil” or “oregano” or “with garlic” on the outside telling you these all have different flavors than the original tomato pastes. After you add those to a small bowl you then add 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar and your seasonings. I used onion powder, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. From you, if you like smoky like me, add some cumin for a Taco pizza theme night or my favorite, the everything bagel seasoning. This is a sauce you cannot mess up!

Jus-Rol Ready-To-Bake Pizza Dough

I am not above help in the kitchen on a weeknight! This dough is magical. It is pliable for you to stretch and you can even fold in half to make a Stromboli or calzone. My dad was the judge of this and Jus-Rol Pizza dough received two thumbs up! So much fun for the family and holds up to a mega helping of toppings! Bonus, you can use the paper the thin crust dough comes rolled up in as a sheet to layer your baking pan for easy and even baking. Plus, fast clean without the sticky mess. One sheet makes a square pizza, mine covered almost a 9×13 baking sheet, that is about 12 slices of pizza if you cut it 3 times horizontally and 4 cuts vertically. You can feed a crowd with this Easy Homemade Pizza Sauce With Prosciutto And Mozzarella Pizza dough rom Jus-Rol.

The Pizza Toppings

I realize not everyone loves the same things I do- just know you are missing out! I typically would load this crust and sauce up with every vegetable you could think of with every possible meat including Canadian bacon. Any meat lovers out there? To keep it kid friendly and also exciting for the adults I added prosciutto. An expensive but wise choice. Adds salt to this homemade pizza sauce since I added non to begin with. Prosciutto is easy for kids to pick off as well or just add the prosciutto to one half of the read-to-bake refrigerated Jus-Rol pizza crust. For the cheese, I bought a large ball of mozzarella and then sliced it medium thin then tossed on some parmesan to make it extra cheesy. I find fresh cheese sliced or grated has the best melting factor! Sprinkle basil, I promise you will want this herb!

Look how big this pizza dough is, can feed 12 slices!

Bake

First, I unroll the Jus-Rol ready to bake refrigerated dough and place back on the included parchment paper. Then, I add my sauce and cheese. I bake that accordingly to direction, but reduce by 2 minutes. I remove from the oven and add my prosciutto, bake another 2 minutes just until the prosciutto is barely crispy. Lastly, I top with basil and allow the pizza to rest for 3 minutes to set up. Slice and enjoy!
