Fill up on this divine spiced apple filling that works just as well on toast as it does pie!
I use it to top my oats, yogurt, ice cream, and even chia seed pudding. Plus an apple a day keeps the doc away, so eat this filling which is now a topping!
I love the dark brown sugar for this recipe, actually all my recipes, because it gives a deep layer of a caramel taste. You can use light brown sugar or your favorite sugar substitute.
This recipe specially reminds me of my dad. We use to have the pre-packed apples and cinnamon Quaker oatmeal for breakfast together, he would always add extra sugar to make it extra sweet. Hmm…just like he use to add extra sugar on my Total Raisin Brand! I think I know who to thank for my sweet tooth….
This is the same recipe for the best Apple Turnovers.
