An alternative for your pecan pie haters. No way anyone will reject these unless they are allergic to chocolate. A perfect combination between pie and brownie. I dare you to resist!
Pecan Pie Brownies
Ingredients
- THE Brownie recipe
- 6 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon all spice
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 1/4 cups whole or halved pecans
Directions
- Prepare brownie mixture according to directions.
- Bake batter for 40 minutes.
For the pecan topping:
- In a medium bowl, whisk sugar, syrup, cinnamon, all spice, eggs, and melted butter together.
- Fold in pecans, coat well.
- Pour mixture directly over the the brownies, gently spread them out evenly.
- Place back in the oven for 30 more minutes.
- Remove from oven, let set and cool for 45 minutes at least before serving.
- Enjoy with some whipped cream or ice cream. These really are just delightful by themselves!
