Pecan Pie Brownies

An alternative for your pecan pie haters. No way anyone will reject these unless they are allergic to chocolate. A perfect combination between pie and brownie. I dare you to resist!

Pecan Pie Brownies

  • Servings: 10-12squares

Ingredients

  • THE Brownie recipe
  • 6 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon all spice
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 1/4 cups whole or halved pecans

Directions

  1. Prepare brownie mixture according to directions.
  2. Bake batter for 40 minutes. 

For the pecan topping:

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk sugar, syrup, cinnamon, all spice, eggs, and melted butter together.
  2. Fold in pecans, coat well.
  3. Pour mixture directly over the the brownies, gently spread them out evenly.
  4. Place back in the oven for 30 more minutes.
  5. Remove from oven, let set and cool for 45 minutes at least before serving.
  6. Enjoy with some whipped cream or ice cream. These really are just delightful by themselves!
