Chocolate Mousse

Chocolate Mousse

This is so delicious and dangerous because it only takes minimal ingredients and time! It only takes about an hour minutes for it to set up, but it is best 3 hours later. It is just good, put it that way! This can be used as a filling which I’ll be posting later on so keep checking back!

Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dark chocolate, chopped*
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon espresso powder

Directions

  1. Place chocolate, vanilla, and 1 1/4 cup heavy cream into a sauce pan.
  2. Melt over medium-low heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Once mixture is smooth, add in espresso powder, whisk for another for another minute to make sure everything is incorporated.
  4. Remove from heat. Cool for 5-10 minutes. (I usually stick mine in the refrigerator while I move on to the next step).
  5. Using a whisk, hand mixer, or standing mixer fitted with the whisk, beat the remaining cream on high to form whipped cream. About 3-4 minutes until you have soft peaks.
  6. Fold in the chocolate mixture with a spatula. Be patient…
  7. Place into a dish, refrigerate for 3 hours.
  8. Spoon over your favorite topping!

*Chips work just as well as a bar.
