This is so delicious and dangerous because it only takes minimal ingredients and time! It only takes about an hour minutes for it to set up, but it is best 3 hours later. It is just good, put it that way! This can be used as a filling which I’ll be posting later on so keep checking back!
Chocolate Mousse
Ingredients
- 1 cup dark chocolate, chopped*
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon espresso powder
Directions
- Place chocolate, vanilla, and 1 1/4 cup heavy cream into a sauce pan.
- Melt over medium-low heat, stirring constantly.
- Once mixture is smooth, add in espresso powder, whisk for another for another minute to make sure everything is incorporated.
- Remove from heat. Cool for 5-10 minutes. (I usually stick mine in the refrigerator while I move on to the next step).
- Using a whisk, hand mixer, or standing mixer fitted with the whisk, beat the remaining cream on high to form whipped cream. About 3-4 minutes until you have soft peaks.
- Fold in the chocolate mixture with a spatula. Be patient…
- Place into a dish, refrigerate for 3 hours.
- Spoon over your favorite topping!
*Chips work just as well as a bar.
